SANDSPIT RESIDENCE
Designed for a family seeking quiet refuge by the sea — places to gather, rest and connect with landscape.
A three-bedroom beach house that responds to coastal living with calm, considered spatial organisation and enduring materiality. Set gently into its landscape, the pavilion-type plan creates a natural flow between sheltered interior spaces and outdoor rooms, supporting relaxed living and connection to place.
Anchored on thermal massing plinths and unified by a continuous concrete floor, the design balances robustness with refinement. The material palette — tactile, restrained, and resilient to coastal conditions — lets light, proportion and texture quietly define the experience of the home.
Separated living and sleeping zones offer clarity and ease of use, while every threshold frames light and outlook with intention. The result is a comfortable, durable retreat that is both restful and deeply rooted in its setting.
